Anaaya Mittal began playing the sitar at age eight in San Rafael, California. Her experience learning and performing Indian classical music inspired her to help more people encounter the tradition.
She created Shared Light Foundation to share Eastern classical music with audiences across the United States. Through the foundation, she hopes to introduce listeners to the music she loves and create opportunities to experience it in concert.
For Anaaya, the foundation is a way to turn a personal passion into something others can share.
